Reflection content
Text, selections and summaries created in the First Signal Map are processed only in your browser, in memory. They are not submitted to The Inner Map, stored in a database, written to browser storage, or attached to an account. There is no account system. The copy, download and print controls act on your own device.
Because anything visible on a screen can be seen by someone with access to that screen, avoid entering names, identifying information, or details you would not want another person nearby to read. If you use the download control, a plain-text file is created on your device and it is then yours to keep or delete.
Accounts, analytics and marketing
This version has no user accounts, advertising trackers, email capture, marketing pixels, embedded video, social widgets or behavioural analytics. It does not set cookies of any kind, essential or otherwise.
Technical information
Like most websites, the hosting service may process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamp and security logs. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, so those logs are handled by GitHub. Reflection content typed into the mapping tool is never part of those requests, because it is never transmitted.
External links
The evidence and support pages link to external organisations such as NICE, the NHS, Samaritans, the National Autistic Society and academic publishers. Their own privacy practices apply once you follow a link to their site.
Your rights
Because no personal data is collected by this site, there is no personal record to access, correct or delete. If you have a question about the site or about how it is hosted, or you believe something here is inaccurate, you can raise it and it will be looked at.
Changes
This notice will be revised before adding analytics, forms, accounts, email services, or any other feature that changes how personal information is handled. The review date at the top of this page will change when it does.
